Founded by Neil Canetty-Clarke and his wife Anna in 2006, the Schoolstrader website is an independent schools community website on which parents, teachers, friends etc can advertise to each other or search for items for sale. The site has dedicated pages for most of the UK’s 1300 or so independent schools (prep and senior).
Registered users can place adverts free of charge regionally and nationally across the UK network and placing ads is very simple.

To post an advertisement, first you will need to register and affiliate yourself to an independent school. Don’t worry if you are not actually a parent, ex-parent or a teacher as you can register as a “friend” of a particular school. If you have no obvious choice then we would recommend that when registering you seek out your nearest independent school from the drop down options available and select it.
Once registered simply click ‘Place Ads’ in the left hand navigation to begin. On the next screen choose ‘Holiday Homes’ from the category list and then select the relevant country of the holiday home.
You then have 500 characters to describe your property and give prices. You should include your domain name for further information.
One picture can be uploaded but it must be under 200kb. You can then choose whether to advertise to your local community or nationally. Click ‘Place Ad’ to finish.
Ads will stay up on the site for two months and then Schoolstrader will send you an automatic reminder to ask if you would like to extend the ad for a further two months.
