The top three regions with the most properties on self-catering.co.uk are Orlando, Tenerife and Costa del Sol, followed by the Algarve, Madeira and surprisingly, Hawaii.

It takes no time at all to register your holiday home; if you have your text prepared already then it takes just a matter of minutes. You can click on “View all properties” to see a list of every region where they have rentals listed, along with the number for each region. This information makes for a transparent and confident website showing you exactly how many properties they have on their books.

To create an advert you need to register first and when you’ve done that an activation key is sent to your email address – this key is needed to continue.

Once you have entered descriptive text about your property you’ll be asked to paste a code in to your website, this is a reciprocal link back to selfcatering.co.uk. After about an hour your property will appear on the website!

You can read testimonials from happy customers with real property reference numbers by clicking on the testimonials link on the bottom left of the website. There are Google ads in the middle of the page but as with many of the free listing sites included on AMVFF this is a source of revenue for the company, without which it wouldn’t be possible for them to offer a free service.

For the holidaymaker, a short search form leads the visitor to the results page with 10 results per page shown. Look at the photo and then click on the blue description to read more about that property.

Over 20 photographs, each can be enlarged for the visitor to view. Underneath the photographs is the description and also comparison links where the holidaymaker can click to see other similar properties they might want to consider. There’s a link to MultiMap showing the location and contact details of the owner are at the bottom of the page. The holidaymaker also has the handy option of sending the details to a friend via email.
