Launched in May 2006, Splut! is squarely aimed at the UK web community. This means that they only accept websites that would be of interest to the majority of the UK population. With humans reviewing submitted websites you can be sure that you will appear in the correct category.
Before submitting make sure you site meets their criteria – basically – your website is finished (ie not under construction in any part), that it works (no errors or poor links) and that its not too saucy (now a holiday home website shouldn’t be saucy). Remember it is hand reviewed so wait to submit if any of the above need attention!
To submit a directory listing go to the home page click ‘Submit a site’ found in the left navigation.You are then required to select the correct category – follow Travel – Accommodation – Self-catering.
On the next screen provide the details requested ensuring that the description is written in the third person and that you don’t mention pricing or special dates. Also don’t elaborate your description with superlatives like "the best", "the greatest" etc. They will only remove them.
Your submission is hand reviewed and the reviewing process may take up to a week. An email with more information will be sent if your website is accepted.
